Purposes and Goals

KMTA is a group of piano, keyboard, organ, flute, group piano, violin and voice teachers located in the Katy area. We are dedicated to excellence in music teaching, fostering further education for teachers and offering activities and opportunities for students and its members. The organization is affiliated with the Texas Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association. Our goal is to raise and enrich the quality of music education. KTMA teachers clearly understand their duties and obligation, exemplifying them to other teachers, to their students and to the public. We exist in order that the teaching profession may be advanced, that the dignity and honor of teaching be upheld, and that students receive the best instruction possible.

Each member is individually screened. He or she must have exceptional qualifications in education and experience and must have demonstrated the ability to be an effective teacher. Our members are dedicated professionals prepared to teach the techniques and joys of music to students who will become the stars as well as the patrons of tomorrow. Whether the student's goals are hobby playing or life long dedication, KTMA provides activities for all ages and all levels of development. Students may explore many aspects of music including performance, theory, music history, composition, and music of all styles.
